ATS Price in Pakistan 2026: Automatic Transfer Switch Buying Guide

Load-shedding, solar inverters and backup generators are now part of almost every Pakistani home, shop and factory. The device that sits between these power sources and keeps your supply switching smoothly is the automatic transfer switch (ATS). Choose the wrong one and you get nuisance tripping, burnt contacts or, worse, WAPDA and generator power meeting on the same line.
This guide explains what an ATS does, how to size it, and the current ATS prices in Pakistan listed at HN Electric in Lahore. We deliver all over Pakistan with Cash on Delivery.

What Is an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)?
An ATS is a switch that watches your main supply (WAPDA/K-Electric/LESCO) and, when it fails, moves your load to a second source, such as a generator or an inverter output. When the main supply comes back, the ATS moves the load back.
The key safety point is that a proper ATS is mechanically and electrically interlocked. Both sources can never be connected to your load at the same time. That protects your generator from back-feeding and protects linemen working on the grid.

Quick price summary: a single-phase 63A ATS for a home starts at around ₨ 3,000 at HN Electric, while 4-pole and higher-current units for three-phase and commercial supplies range from about ₨ 7,700 to ₨ 19,000.
Single Phase or Three Phase: Which ATS Do You Need?
Look at your meter and your distribution board:
- Single-phase supply (most homes): one phase plus neutral. A 2-pole ATS switches both phase and neutral. The Mora 2P 63A Dual Power ATS is the usual choice for a house running fans, lights, a fridge and one or two inverter ACs.
- Three-phase supply (bigger houses, shops, factories, tube wells): three phases plus neutral. You need a 4-pole ATS so all three phases and the neutral transfer together. Start with the Mora 4 Pole 63A ATS or move up to the MORA 160A 4P ATS for larger loads.

How to Size an ATS (Amp Rating)
The ATS must be rated for the full current your load can draw, not just your average use. A simple method:
- Add up the wattage of everything that will run on backup at the same time.
- Convert to amps. For single phase, amps ≈ watts ÷ 230. For three phase, amps per phase ≈ watts ÷ (1.73 × 400).
- Add a safety margin of 25% or more for motor start-up current (ACs, pumps, fridges).
- Match the ATS to your main breaker. Your ATS rating should be equal to or higher than the main MCB or MCCB feeding it.
Example: a home with a 1.5-ton inverter AC (about 1,500 W), fridge (about 300 W), fans and lights (about 600 W) and a water motor (about 750 W) draws roughly 3,150 W, or about 14 A. With margin, a 63A ATS has plenty of headroom and also covers future additions.
For generators, also check the generator’s own output. Our sizing guide for changeover switches has more worked examples.
Motorised ATS vs DIN-Rail ATS
- DIN-rail ATS (for example, the Mora 63A DIN Rail ATS) clips into a standard distribution box next to your MCBs. It is compact and neat for homes and small offices.
- Motorised ATS (for example, the MORA 250A 4P Motorised ATS) uses a motor mechanism to throw heavier contacts. It suits commercial buildings, plazas and industrial panels where currents are higher.

ATS vs Manual Changeover Switch
A manual changeover switch is cheaper and very reliable, but someone has to turn the handle every time the light goes. An ATS does it automatically, which matters when:
- nobody is home during load-shedding,
- you have medical equipment, CCTV, servers or freezers that cannot wait, or
- your generator has auto-start and you want a fully hands-free system.
If budget is tight, a manual switch from our changeover switch range is a solid option. See our comparison: automatic vs manual transfer switch.
Installation Tips (Read Before Wiring)
- Use a qualified electrician. Wrong wiring can back-feed the grid or damage your generator.
- Protect each source. Fit a correctly rated breaker on both the mains side and the generator side. Browse our circuit breakers.
- Use the right cable size for the ATS rating and keep terminals tight. Loose terminals are the most common cause of burnt ATS units in Pakistan.
- Add surge protection. Generator switching and lightning can create spikes. An SPD in the same board protects your appliances.
- Mount in a proper enclosure. A distribution box keeps dust and moisture out.

What Affects ATS Prices in Pakistan?
- Current rating: 63A units are the cheapest; 125A, 160A and 250A units cost more because of larger contacts.
- Number of poles: 4-pole (three-phase) costs more than 2-pole.
- Mechanism: motorised and DIN-rail designs differ in build and price.
- Brand and originality: genuine brands cost more than unbranded copies but last longer.
- Exchange rate: most ATS units are imported, so prices move with the rupee.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the price of an ATS in Pakistan?
At HN Electric, a single-phase Mora 2P 63A ATS is listed at ₨ 2,999, a 4-pole 63A ATS at ₨ 7,699 and a MORA 160A 4P ATS at ₨ 18,999 (October 2026). Check each product page for the latest price.
Which ATS is best for a home in Pakistan?
For most single-phase homes, a 2-pole 63A ATS is enough. Homes with three-phase meters need a 4-pole ATS.
Can I use an ATS with a solar inverter?
Yes, an ATS can switch between grid and inverter output on the AC side. Make sure the ATS rating matches the inverter’s AC output current and follow the inverter maker’s wiring instructions.
Is an ATS better than a manual changeover?
An ATS is more convenient because it switches automatically. A manual changeover is cheaper and simpler. Both are safe when correctly installed.
Do you deliver ATS switches outside Lahore?
Yes. HN Electric delivers across Pakistan, and Cash on Delivery is available.
