The Mora 4P 63A Dual Power Automatic Transfer Switch AES-988 is designed to change a connected load between two compatible AC power sources in a properly engineered backup-power system. With four-pole switching, the ATS can switch three phases and neutral when used in a compatible system. Product Specifications

The 63A rating must not be treated as permission to load every installation to 63A. The usable capacity depends on conductor size, upstream protective devices, enclosure temperature, terminal conditions and the continuous load. The electrician should also confirm whether the listed voltage and pole arrangement match the actual system.

How an Automatic Transfer Switch Works

In a coordinated installation, the ATS monitors or responds to the availability of the preferred source. If that source becomes unavailable, the switch transfers the connected load to the alternative source according to its design and system controls. When the preferred source returns, the unit may transfer back after the required conditions are satisfied.

Transfer behaviour can affect motors, computers, solar inverters and other sensitive equipment. This device should not be presented as a seamless or zero-interruption power supply. Equipment requiring uninterrupted operation may also need a correctly designed UPS or other dedicated solution.

Source Compatibility and Neutral Switching

Both sources must be electrically compatible with the load and the ATS. The installer must verify voltage, phase sequence, frequency, earthing method and neutral arrangement. Neutral switching requirements vary by generator, inverter and local electrical design. Incorrect neutral or earth connections can create shock, equipment and fire risks.

Never connect two sources in a way that allows unsafe backfeeding. Generator and inverter installations must prevent energy from feeding into the utility supply or another source unless the system is specifically approved and designed for that operation.

Installation and Safety

This ATS is not a replacement for correctly rated MCB/MCCB protection, RCCB/RCD protection, surge protection, earthing or source isolation. Each source and the outgoing load may require separate protective devices according to the circuit design.

Installation must be completed by a qualified electrician with every source isolated, locked out where required and verified dead. Confirm cable size, terminal torque, upstream protection, panel space, heat dissipation and source labelling. Functional testing should cover normal supply, source failure, transfer, restoration and manual isolation before the system is handed over.
