Mora 2P RCCB 63A for compatible single-phase AC distribution. Confirm residual sensitivity, RCCB type, voltage, neutral arrangement and upstream overcurrent protection.

Category:
Description

Mora 2P RCCB 63A is a two-pole residual current circuit breaker for compatible single-phase AC systems. It monitors the balance of current flowing through line and neutral and can disconnect the circuit when residual current exceeds its rated threshold. Correct selection, earthing and professional installation remain essential.

Mora 2P RCCB 63A Features

  • Two-pole switching: disconnects line and neutral together in a compatible single-phase arrangement.
  • 63A rated current: must coordinate with cable capacity and upstream overcurrent protection.
  • Residual-current detection: helps reduce risk associated with earth-leakage faults when correctly selected and installed.
  • DIN-rail mounting: compact installation inside a suitable distribution enclosure.
  • Test button: supports routine functional checks according to the product instructions.

RCCB Does Not Provide Overcurrent Protection

An RCCB detects residual or earth-leakage current; it does not normally protect against overload or short circuit. It must be coordinated with a suitable fuse or MCB/MCCB as required by the circuit design. The 63A marking is a rated current value—not proof of short-circuit protection.

Check the actual device label for rated voltage, rated residual operating current (IΔn), RCCB type, conditional short-circuit rating and applicable standard. Earlier listing text mentioned 230V AC, typical 30mA sensitivity and rapid operation; confirm these values on the supplied unit rather than assuming every batch is identical.

Choosing the Correct RCCB Type

Connected equipment can create different residual-current waveforms. Confirm whether the circuit requires Type AC, Type A or another RCCB type. Solar inverters, electronic appliances, variable-speed equipment and EV charging devices can have specific residual-current protection requirements in their manufacturer documentation.

Typical Applications

  • Compatible single-phase home distribution boards
  • Shops, offices and apartment circuits
  • Selected solar-inverter or generator AC outputs
  • Kitchen, bathroom and outdoor circuits when the complete design is suitable

Neutral, Earthing and Installation Safety

Both the protected line and associated neutral must pass through the RCCB in the correct direction. Do not share the downstream neutral with another circuit, and never join neutral to earth after the RCCB. These errors can cause nuisance tripping or interfere with correct protection.

A qualified electrician should confirm cable size, terminal torque, upstream protection, earthing continuity and prospective fault current. An RCCB does not replace a sound earthing system. Install it in a suitable distribution box with adequate space and environmental protection.

Testing and Maintenance

Press the test button at the interval stated by the manufacturer and applicable installation requirements. The device should trip. If it does not, arrange inspection by a qualified electrician and do not assume residual-current protection is available. The button checks the internal mechanism but does not replace complete electrical testing with suitable instruments.

Selection Checklist

Before ordering, record the supply voltage, expected load current, cable size, required residual sensitivity, RCCB type and upstream overcurrent protection. Confirm that the circuit is single phase with a compatible neutral arrangement. For inverter-fed circuits, follow the equipment manufacturer’s protective-device instructions.

Why Buy from HN Electric?

HN Electric supplies electrical protection products across Pakistan with convenient online ordering. Browse more Mora products, or share your circuit and panel details with our team before purchase if you need help checking suitability.

Buyer note: A lower residual threshold is not automatically correct for every circuit, while a higher threshold may not provide the intended additional protection. Verify the received device and arrange professional installation and commissioning before energizing the circuit.

Compatibility note: Nuisance tripping should be investigated rather than bypassed. It may indicate shared neutrals, accumulated appliance leakage, wiring damage, moisture or an unsuitable RCCB type. A qualified electrician should test the installation and correct the underlying cause.

Mora 2P RCCB 63A FAQs

Does this RCCB protect against overload and short circuit?

No. The Mora 2P RCCB 63A is intended to detect residual current. It normally needs correctly rated upstream overcurrent protection such as an MCB, MCCB or fuse.

What residual sensitivity should I choose?

The required IΔn value depends on the circuit purpose, connected equipment and local design requirements. Verify the marking on the supplied device and let a qualified electrician select the correct sensitivity and RCCB type.

Why might an RCCB trip repeatedly?

Possible causes include genuine earth leakage, damaged wiring, moisture, shared neutrals, accumulated appliance leakage or an unsuitable device type. Never bypass the RCCB; have the circuit tested and the underlying fault corrected.

How often should the test button be used?

Follow the interval printed in the manufacturer instructions and applicable installation rules. For general electrical-equipment and safety standards, consult the International Electrotechnical Commission. A button test does not replace instrument testing by an electrician.
