Description

Mora Ampere Volt LED Indicator is a dual-display panel meter for viewing voltage and current in a compatible electrical system. By showing both measurements together, it provides a convenient visual reference for distribution boards, generator panels, inverter installations, workshops and other correctly designed enclosures. This product is a monitoring device; it does not automatically disconnect an unsafe load.

Mora Ampere Volt LED Indicator Features

  • Dual digital display: presents voltage and current readings on one compact panel device.
  • Panel-mount format: intended for a compatible cut-out and protected electrical enclosure.
  • Live circuit monitoring: helps users observe supply voltage and approximate load current while equipment operates.
  • Multiple model options: display colours or measurement ranges may vary, so select and verify the required variant.
  • Compact installation: useful for organized monitoring where panel space is limited.

Applications for Voltage and Current Monitoring

This indicator may be installed in compatible home or commercial distribution boards, workshop panels, generator outputs and solar-inverter AC panels. It can help an operator identify changes in voltage or current that deserve further investigation. For other monitoring and automatic-control options, browse our voltage protectors and monitoring devices.

For a three-phase system, one indicator may not provide complete monitoring of every phase. The installer must decide whether separate meters, selector switches or a dedicated three-phase meter are required. The connection method depends on the selected variant and the system being measured.

How Current Measurement Works

Some ampere indicators measure current through an external current transformer, often called a CT, while other designs use a different connection method. Verify whether the selected product includes or requires a CT and confirm its rated ratio, conductor opening and orientation. Never assume an external CT shown in a generic diagram is included.

Where a CT is used, only the intended conductor should pass through it according to the supplied wiring diagram. Passing line and neutral together can cause their magnetic fields to cancel and produce an incorrect reading. CT secondary wiring and safety requirements must follow the manufacturer’s instructions; never disconnect or modify an energized current-transformer circuit.

Verify Voltage and Current Ranges

The old listing mentioned generic voltage and current ranges, but these can vary between models. Treat the printed label, selected variation and supplied diagram as the final reference for measurement range, supply type, frequency, accuracy, CT requirement and terminal arrangement. Do not connect an AC-only meter to a DC battery or solar string.

Display resolution is not the same as measurement accuracy. This indicator is useful for everyday panel monitoring, but a calibrated test instrument should be used for commissioning, certification or detailed fault diagnosis. If its reading differs significantly from a trusted instrument, isolate the circuit and check the wiring, CT orientation and selected model.

Monitoring Does Not Replace Protection

The meter displays electrical values; it does not itself prevent overload, undervoltage, overvoltage, short circuits or earth leakage unless the exact model documentation explicitly states a protective switching function. Install correctly rated MCBs, fuses, RCCBs, RCBOs or monitoring relays according to the system design.

Browse our circuit breakers for overcurrent protection. Where transient surge protection is required, see our SPDs and surge protection devices. Each device performs a different role.

Panel Size and Installation Checks

Before ordering, confirm the front-bezel size, body depth, required cut-out, mounting clips, terminal clearance and CT dimensions where applicable. Use an enclosure that prevents accidental contact with live terminals and provides suitable environmental protection. Explore our distribution boxes, but verify physical fit before cutting any panel.

Installation must be completed by a qualified electrician after all relevant supplies are isolated and verified dead. The installer should follow the exact terminal diagram, use correctly rated conductors, add required upstream protection and tighten all connections securely. Incorrect voltage wiring, current-path wiring or CT placement can damage the device or produce misleading readings.

Using the Readings Safely

Voltage and current naturally change as loads switch on and off. Compare displayed readings with the equipment ratings and normal operating pattern rather than treating one number as proof of a fault. Repeated abnormal voltage, unexpectedly high current, overheating or unstable readings should be investigated by a qualified electrician.

Periodically inspect the display, enclosure, connections and CT for heat, discoloration, looseness or damaged insulation. Isolate the equipment before cleaning or maintenance, and replace a cracked or unreliable meter.

Mora Ampere Volt LED Indicator FAQs

What does this panel meter display?

The Mora Ampere Volt LED Indicator displays voltage and current together for convenient day-to-day monitoring. The exact measurement range and connection method depend on the supplied model, so check its printed label and wiring diagram before installation.

Does it protect equipment from voltage faults?

No. This model is presented as an indicator, not an automatic protection relay. Use correctly selected protective devices separately where the circuit design requires them.

Is a current transformer included?

CT inclusion and specifications can vary by model or batch. Confirm the package contents and required CT ratio with HN Electric before ordering.
